Theron Armor-Piercing Ammunition, or TAP rounds or TAP ammo, are rifle rounds from different-caliber weapons like 5.56 or 7.62 that have a lead base, a copper jacket, and a tungsten-steel center rod.
This is aimed at penetrating any tank or troop-carrying armored vehicle.
Once the round hits the armored vehicle and explodes, the tungsten rod continues to travel through the armor wall and once inside, it will ricochet and kill all occupants.
